There were 65 people at the March 11th dance (33 members, 32 guests) and 68 people at the March 25th dance (40 members, 28 guests) with Robert Seay teaching Tango. At the March 25th dance, Robert performed a Quick Step with Emma Sharpe and a Waltz with Jo Morton for our viewing pleasure.

April Birthdays: Beth Dowtin, Jane Fisk, Benjamin Heck, Naomi Mart, Fred Rehm, and Lisa Sand.

At the Board Meeting on March 11th, matters addressed were show time, local studios, Fancy Feet Dancers, Cinco de Mayo, Lexington High School outreach, restrictions issued by ASDERA and repeating French Night. The next Board Meeting will be April 8th at 6:30 PM at The Barn and is open to all members in good standing.

The Fancy Feet dancers will perform at Forest Pines on April 15th and at The Waterford on April 29th. They also have a tentative appearance in June. Male and female dancers are always welcome to participate. You may contact Barbara Kubodera at 803-787-3248 for more information.

Mark your calendar for April 8th because it’s our annual Azalea Ball. It’s our first semi-formal dance of the year, so we all get to really dress up. We can all dress up a little more once or twice a year, can’t we?

Our president had planned an article for the newsletter, but became ill with the flu, so we’ll get to hear from her next time. She did want us to know that the Florence Symphony is looking for dancers to do the Viennese Waltz. The director, Terry Roberts, is planning a Strauss Night, entitled Vienna Nights in May, 2007. We are planning a Cinco de Mayo night for May 13th with food and decorations suitable to the celebration. This effort is spearheaded by Donna Swinbank, and we know what a great job she did with French Night. That doesn’t mean she can do it alone, so get involved and offer to help.
